I remember getting my own ears pierced. My cousin and I both went together. It scared her enough that she ended up with only one ear pierced. I managed to stay put for both.
btw, thank you thank you for posting that picture of Peter's tongue. now I know what to look for on my daughter. her doc says she might have that and to look for it.
What a cute pic! Your brave girl looks great with her earrings! :) I remember getting mine done when I started Kindergarten. I was SO excited. And to think if I would've stopped back then...at almost 29, I'm sporting no less than thirteen holes, only eight of which are in my ears. :)

Oh, they're darling! Angela got hers done last spring. Which reminds me, she's been without earrings in for a couple weeks. Yikes!
