Each month one of our children gets to plan a special date with either mom or dad. This month (actually November…we’re a little late) was Ricky’s turn. When I asked him where he wanted to go and with whom, he decided to go to Mall of America with me! A few weeks ago I had taken him there to make a Build-A-Bear that he would give to Peter for Christmas. He loved the whole experience so now he decided that he needed a new outfit for his bear…the same one he had picked out for Peter.
Here’s the puppy he got Peter for Christmas…only it’s now stuffed!
Then he found just the right outfit for his Build-A-Bear….
Remember I posted a long time ago about his fascination for Firefighters?
This was taken back in June after he talked continuously about visiting a fire station…his dad finally took him there and they gave him a fabulous tour!!!
After BAB Store, we strolled through Nickolodeon Universe….
Stopping at SpongeBob’s house to pose for a picture….
Before heading off to the other side of the mall to see one jolly old elf!
Now, granted it was a Tuesday evening, but we were at the largest mall in America and there was nobody visiting Santa except for us! Ricky spent quite a long time talking to him and he even asked if he could pull Santa’s beard like Buddy did in the movie “Elf!”
Of course, no date is complete without going out to dinner. Ricky chose pizza…Ricky always chooses pizza!
On the way home he said to me, “I love you mommy…you’re my best girlfriend!” What a great date he was!!!

That sounds like such a precious time together!
Thanks for visiting my blog and by all means follow! Must say I'm so glad I'm not by MOA because my Julia is a Nick addict who just won a SpongeBob trivia contest over a bunch of adults! She'd be begging constantly to spend any and/or all of her free time there.
Also, where the heck were you and those adorable socks when my girls were toddlers????

You couldn't have had a nicer day!!! I love how you ended it with what he said!
So sweet!! Glad you had such a wonderful date!
Wow that sounds like a really relaly fun date! we just went to BAB too with a birthday gift card. On the Guatemalan ornaments you probably could find some online, I bought almost all of mine while I was living there and then some more from another girl livingthere but I checked and her etsy store isn't open now that she back in the US. At the fairtrades convention I got the card of the man and his wife that are guatemala and I bought some ornaments from him and a nativity set, he also had the little stuffed cloth animal ornaments but they wewre bigger then mine,I got on his website and couldn't find stuff as easily so if I were you I would just email him and ask what christmas decorations he has. His name is Felipe Gonzales fgon@moonflowerenterprises.com www.monnflowerenterprises.com phone 1877 892-3193
